A new year round initiative from Nawlage Is Power
A year round youth initiative from Nawlage Is Power Inc. connecting students and families with people, resources, and experiences that can help young people explore their interests, develop skills, and envision their future.
We're currently building our community network and gathering input from students, parents, educators, professionals, businesses, and organizations.
Every young person has unique interests, talents, and potential. Sometimes, they simply need the opportunity to discover where those interests could lead.
Pathways & Possibilities is being developed to help young people move from “I'm interested in this” to “I can see myself doing this.”
Through connections with community professionals, businesses, mentors, educators, and organizations, we want to expose students to possibilities they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.
Help students discover careers and professions they may not have considered.
Connect young people with positive adults who can share their experiences, knowledge, and guidance.
Give students opportunities to learn by doing, creating, exploring, and experiencing.
Help young people develop confidence, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and other valuable skills.
Build relationships between students, families, schools, businesses, professionals, and community organizations.
Help students learn about resources, educational pathways, career possibilities, and experiences that can support their goals.
Pathways & Possibilities is currently in its community building phase.
Before we determine exactly what opportunities to offer, we're listening. We're asking:
What are students interested in?
What do parents want their children exposed to?
What do teachers see students needing?
What skills and careers can local professionals share?
What experiences can businesses and organizations provide?
The answers will help shape the program.
What Is Your Child Interested In?
We want to learn what young people are curious about from careers and technology to music, healthcare, entrepreneurship, skilled trades, sports, the arts, and everything in between.
Your responses will help us understand what students want to explore and guide the development of future opportunities.
No name or contact information is required.
Businesses and professionals have an important role in helping young people understand the world of work. You don't have to be a teacher to make a difference in a young person's life.
You or your organization can support career access by:
Sponsoring youth experiences
Sharing your career or industry
Hosting students
Providing mentorship
Offering hands-on learning opportunities
Donating resources or services
Supporting the program financially
Become a Career Access Partner
Meet a musician → visit a studio → learn about music careers
Meet an automotive professional → see a shop → learn hands-on skills
Meet a technology professional → learn about careers → participate in an activity
Meet healthcare professionals → learn about different careers → explore educational pathways
Meet a business owner → learn how a business works → develop an idea
Meet artists and creatives → experience their work → discover creative careers
These are examples of the types of connections we're exploring, not currently guaranteed program offerings.
A student may know they love cars but never meet a mechanic.
A student may love technology but never meet someone who works in the field.
A student may be creative but never realize that creativity can become a career.
A student may dream about owning a business but have never spoken with an entrepreneur.
Sometimes exposure is the first step toward possibility.
Pathways & Possibilities is designed to help create those moments.
We want to help young people:
Discover their interests.
Build confidence.
Develop skills.
Meet positive role models.
Explore careers.
Experience new opportunities.
See possibilities for their future.
It's a community network built around young people.
Students bring their curiosity.
Parents bring insight.
Teachers bring knowledge.
Professionals bring experience.
Businesses bring opportunities.
Community organizations bring resources.
Volunteers bring time and talent.
Together, we can help young people discover what's possible.
