Nonprofit Administrative & Fundraising Internship

  •  Internship Title: Administrative & Nonprofit Management Intern
    Focus Areas: Fundraising/Development, Grant Writing, Event Planning
    Location: Tampa, FL | Hybrid
    Reports to: Executive Director
    Hours: 10–20 hours per week
    Compensation: Unpaid / Academic Credit (specify based on org's policy)
    Duration: June 2025  – August 2025 (Summer 2025)


About Us


At Nawlage Is Power, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to explore their creative and athletic potential. Our nonprofit was founded in honor of Aquiles “Nawlage” Espinosa and his unwavering dedication to sports, music, and youth development. Through our outreach programs, we strive to provide the guidance, resources, and support necessary to cultivate the next generation of leaders, athletes, and creatives - empowering them to carry on his legacy and make a lasting, positive impact on the world. We are seeking a motivated and organized intern to support our fundraising, grant writing, and event planning efforts.


Position Summary


The Administrative & Nonprofit Management internship is ideal for someone pursuing a career in nonprofit management, communications, fundraising, or public administration.


Key Responsibilities


Fundraising/Development

  • Assist with donor research and database management
  • Draft donor acknowledgment letters and thank-you communications
  • Help create fundraising appeals and campaign materials
  • Support outreach efforts to corporate sponsors and foundations

Grant Writing

  • Assist in researching prospective grants and funding opportunities
  • Draft and edit sections of grant proposals and reports
  • Organize supporting documents and maintain grant tracking systems

Event Planning

  • Support logistics for fundraising events (virtual and/or in-person)
  • Help manage event registrations and volunteer coordination
  • Assist with vendor outreach, sponsorships, and post-event follow-up
  • Create promotional materials (flyers, email campaigns, social media posts)

Ideal Candidate


  • Current student or recent graduate in nonprofit management, public administration, communications, or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Canva, Eventbrite, or donor databases (like Salesforce or Bloomerang) is a plus
  • Passion for nonprofit work and community impact
